WATER FEATURES - made of metal for the garden and patio
Water features for every taste and every garden situation
There is an almost unlimited variety of water features. The AQUA LINEA fountain systems with open water basins and water inlets via water walls, inlet pipes, or water chutes are classic examples. The AQUA TOP water walls are a good choice when space is limited or as a combination of privacy screen and water feature. The AQUA CUBUS water tables are suitable as multiple source fountains for both public areas and private gardens with ample space. Here, the water basin is closed so that children and animals cannot drown. The AQUA BOWL water bowls are particularly popular for medium-sized gardens. The water feature with source outlet is elegantly round, takes up a moderate amount of space, and creates a pleasant atmosphere. Birds love to stand on the edge of the bowl to preen, drink, or simply rest.

Water features in the garden are an important design element
Water features are an indispensable design element in both urban and natural gardens. Water features bring life and movement to the garden, help to structure it, and have a calming, refreshing, and relaxing effect. Water basins, water bowls, water tables, or water walls greatly enhance the quality of virtually all gardens and public parks. In addition to providing a visual accent, the cool water invigorates and covers unwanted background noise with its splashing and bubbling. A fountain in the garden therefore adds real value to practically every ambitious garden and public area!
Added value for pets and welcome animal garden dwellers
The greatest joy in having your own water features often comes when our beloved pets also take to them. Whether as a drinking fountain for dogs, cats, or birds, as a place to cool off and bathe, or to groom their feathers. When planning, make sure that smaller garden dwellers such as hedgehogs, amphibians, or mice cannot fall into the water basins, etc. – and if they do, provide a “rescue ladder” so that they can save themselves from the water in an emergency.
What to consider when caring for water
With rising water temperatures and longer retention times for water in ponds and fountains, it is likely that algae will spread in the water due to the usual nutrient input (pollen, dust, etc.). We strongly recommend avoiding the use of chemicals! This is both for the sake of our beloved animal garden inhabitants, who may drink the water, and for the sake of the environment. If you decide not to use a suspended solids filter or similar water treatment system, we recommend changing the water regularly. In most cases, less than two cubic meters need to be replaced. This makes it hardly worthwhile to invest in a technically complex water treatment system, which also requires maintenance. Ideally, you should use the natural water to water your garden. In most cases, replacing the water 3-4 times per season is sufficient to maintain good water quality. Tip: Dirt and mud often accumulate at the bottom. This can be easily and simply removed with a water vacuum cleaner. High water hardness values can cause unsightly limescale stains over time. If rainwater is not available to fill the fountains and water basins, ensure that the water hardness is low, using a descaling device if necessary.
Water features as refreshment on hot summer days
Water features for public areas
In public areas, water features have the same visual and emotional appeal as water features in private gardens. However, when planning and implementing them, there are increased requirements in terms of safety for people and animals, maintenance, service life, water pump requirements, and stability. As a rule, open water basins are difficult to implement for safety reasons, as there is always a risk of small children drowning. The AQUA CUBUS water tables, AQUA TOP water walls, AQUA GLOBE spring fountain balls, and AQUA BOWL water bowls are well suited for public areas. Gartenmetall has accumulated a wealth of experience in this field, enabling us to provide you with valuable and helpful support, especially when it comes to important details.
Safe water features, even for small children
If small children are expected to be present, there are a few important features to consider so that grandparents and parents can relax. Small children can drown in just a few centimeters of water. In such cases, it is therefore recommended that a grid be installed in open water troughs for water features with water basins. This grid can then be removed later, or when the children are no longer visiting. Alternatively, there are also splashing and stimulating spring fountains with completely closed water basins: e.g., the AQUA GLOBE spring fountain with ball or AQUA BOWL water bowls. The AQUA CUBUS spring fountains with RAND are also well-suited and safe.
