The round or rectangular ARCO gates mark the beginning or end of parks, gardens and squares and are a great design element with an individual touch. ARCO as an area gate can be used with a sliding glass door to provide privacy.

The ARCO passage gate serves as an entrance, privacy screen, and partition all in one. This striking metal gate can separate spaces, define boundaries, or even create new spaces. But no matter how or where you install the gate, it’s sure to be an eye-catcher!

The frame is made of high-quality Corten steel, rotex-polished stainless steel, or  color-coated stainless steel according to the client’s specifications. It’s also possible to laser-cut lettering—such as a company logo or house number—and backlight it.

ARCO Passage and Swing Gates

ARCO Passage Gate: Construction and Technology

The various gates are self-supporting but must be bolted to the floor to ensure sufficient stability. For this purpose, 600 mm x 600 mm mounting plates are welded in place to ensure secure installation. For the portal gates, the passageway can be visually closed off with a sliding glass door, which is recessed into the frame. The passage gate is therefore identical on both sides. Further customization is provided by lettering such as company names, logos, or other motifs, which can be laser-cut, backed with acrylic glass, and illuminated.

Panel gates serve as both an entrance and a privacy screen. Their width can be customized to fit the specific site conditions, and they can be personalized with custom lettering. We offer standard gates in widths of 2,700 mm and 3,600 mm and in the following finishes  Corten steel, stainless steel, or color-coated stainless steel as standard. The gates are securely fastened to the foundation using screw plates. A structural analysis is essential, as the gate may be subjected to significant wind and mechanical forces.

Add-ons and Options for Sliding Doors

If you want to close off the cabinet, a double-sided sliding door can be installed that retracts into the cabinet body. The doors are made of satin-finished safety glass and can be easily opened and closed using two recessed handles. This keeps unwanted eyes out.

Eye bolt for a swing chair

ARCO archways can also be used as elegant design elements: If a threaded rod with an eye bolt is mounted in the arch, a hanging chair made of materials such as wicker, fabric, or plastic can be attached to it. Children especially enjoy a plate swing or swing cloths.

Lettering

For company entrances or even in the entrance areas of private gardens, it makes sense to add custom lettering to panel gates. To do this, stainless steel letters can be mounted on the surface. Another option is to laser-cut the lettering and back it with stainless steel or acrylic glass. A particularly striking effect is achieved when the acrylic glass is illuminated from the inside with LED lights.

ARCO Arch Gate or Portal

Step right in: The arch or portal gate offers a visually welcoming entrance to private gardens, parks, or inner-city open spaces. The round gate has a diameter of ø2,100 mm and a clearance height of 1,000 mm. The rectangular gate is 2,900 mm high and 2,900 mm wide, allowing for easy passage. The gates are manufactured in one piece and mounted to the ground using bolted plates. The ground must be level and stable. Additionally, as the property owner, you must provide structural verification that the large gates are securely anchored.

ARCO Arched Gate with Bench

Dynamic design, great functionality: The ARCO arched gate has been expanded to include a bench with a small canopy, making it sure to become a favorite spot in the garden. Its appearance is reminiscent of a bus shelter. It is manufactured and delivered as a single unit, so the seating element can be quickly installed on level ground. The ARCO arch gate comes standard with an outer diameter of 2,400 mm and is available in two depths: 500 mm and 700 mm. The seat is made of 100% hardwood from sustainably managed forests.

Frequently Asked Questions About the ARCO Passage Gate

ARCO is designed as a passage gate and spatial entry element. Depending on the model, it marks an entrance, provides privacy screens, or separates areas in a garden, park, or plaza from one another. The panel gate can also be extended on the sides. For those looking for a classic garden gate as part of a fence system, Gartenmetall offers a dedicated product line called PORTA.
ARCO is available as a panel gate with a round opening, as a freestanding round arched gate, as a rectangular portal gate, and as an arched gate with an integrated bench. The panel gate is particularly suitable when the entrance and privacy screen are to be designed together. Arched and portal gates, on the other hand, emphasize the passageway itself more strongly as a spatial frame.
ARCO is available in Corten steel, Rotex-finished stainless steel, and color-coated stainless steel. When exposed to the elements, Corten steel develops its characteristic patina of noble rust. For stainless steel used in outdoor garden metal applications, Gartenmetall prefers the non-directional Rotex finish; this makes fingerprints less noticeable and allows installation marks to be touched up on-site. Color-coated versions are manufactured on stainless steel and can be produced in numerous RAL and DB colors depending on the project.

For flat gates, Gartenmetall offers, among other things, standard models with 2,400 × 2,700 × 200 mm and 2,900 × 3,600 × 200 mm. The round arched gate is 2,400 mm high and 2,700 mm wide as standard; the round opening has a diameter of 2,100 mm and a passage width of 1,000 mm at the bottom. The rectangular portal gate is specified in the technical product information as 3,300 mm high and 3,700 mm wide, with an opening of 2,900 × 2,900 mm. Custom dimensions are available upon request.

The large ARCO elements require a sturdy anchoring system. Flat and arched doors are secured to a suitable foundation using 600 × 600 mm screw plates. The foundation and structural analysis must be provided by the customer. Particularly with the large surfaces of the flat-panel gate, wind loads and other mechanical loads must be taken into account as early as the planning stage.
Yes. A double-sided sliding door is available for the panel gate, which slides into the frame. Gartenmetall offers a satin-finished sliding door made of laminated safety glass with recessed handles; alternatively, the gate can be prepared for a customer-supplied sliding door. This allows the open passageway to be converted into a lockable access point within the partition wall.
The ARCO panel door can be extended sideways. This allows the entryway to be integrated into a larger privacy screen or partition and adapted to the available width. The actual passageway remains a deliberate part of the design; for a more private or lockable entrance, the satin-finished sliding door can also be installed.
Custom lettering is available for flat gates. Text, house numbers, or company logos can, for example, be laser-engraved into the surface and backed with stainless steel or acrylic glass or mounted as stainless steel letters. When backed with acrylic glass, interior lighting is also possible. This makes ARCO particularly appealing for clearly marked company, building, or parking lot entrances.

Flat gates and round arched gates are delivered, according to the technical documentation, largely or completely pre-assembled; the flat gate features removable lifting lugs for transport and installation. The rectangular portal gate, on the other hand, consists of three pre-assembled elements that are joined together during final installation. Access, lifting capabilities, the foundation, and the installation process should therefore be coordinated with the selected model before placing an order.

For the round arched gate, there is a version with a built-in bench. It has a standard outer diameter of 2,400 mm and is available in depths of 500 or 700 mm; the seat is made of hardwood. Additionally, for compatible ARCO models, a mounting point with a threaded hole and an eye bolt can be provided in the arch for a hanging chair.
