The current fire baskets are manufactured from weather-resistant Corten steel S355J2W+N, material no. 1.8965. The visible surfaces are pre-rusted. This means that the metal already has the rusted appearance typical of Corten steel upon delivery.

However, not every licensed product is made from the same material. For example, the VfB-themed steles are also available in stainless steel or colour-coated stainless steel. The compact VfB lanterns are made from steel. It is therefore always essential to check the material specification for the respective product.

A matching stainless steel grill grate is available for the square fire baskets. It is placed on top of the fire basket as a separate accessory.

When used as a fire pit, the safety instructions for fire-related items apply. These include a level and fireproof surface, sufficient distance from buildings and other flammable materials, and constant supervision of the fire.

A trivet is advisable on delicate patio surfaces. With Corten steel, moisture can cause rust particles or rusty water to seep onto the surface beneath; when the fire basket is in use, ash and combustion residues are also added.

Gartenmetall therefore offers a matching stainless steel trivet for its square fire baskets. This point should be taken into account when placing an order, particularly if the fire basket is to be used on light-coloured slabs or other delicate surfaces.

The current square fire baskets featuring VfB Stuttgart and Nürburgring designs are 740 mm high, with a width and depth of 345 mm each.

This allows you to check, before placing your order, whether there is sufficient space and a safe distance at the intended location. The exact dimensions are also specified on the relevant product page.

The current CORA licensed decorative steles are 1.380 mm high, 300 mm wide, and 15 mm deep. A portion of the stele is inserted into the ground for anchoring.

This makes the stele suitable for use in flower beds, lawns, or front yards, for example, without the need for a separate base.

The CORA decorative stele is inserted approximately 200 mm deep into the ground. In cases of heavier stress, such as in windy locations or where the stele is likely to be touched regularly, a more stable anchoring system is recommended. Gartenmetall recommends using a point foundation for such situations.

The intended location should therefore be checked before installation, not after the stele has been set up.

Yes. The visible rust surface of Corten steel continues to evolve as it alternates between wet and dry conditions. This change is a natural characteristic of the material.

When selecting a location, it is important to consider that rust water or rust particles may come into contact with adjacent surfaces during this process. Therefore, when using it on sensitive patio and floor coverings, a suitable coaster or appropriate structural separation should be used.

Accessories available for the square fire baskets include a trivet and a stainless steel grill grate. The trivet protects the surface beneath from ash and potential rust deposits. With the grill grate, the fire basket can also be used for grilling.

Whether accessories are needed therefore depends less on the design and more on the planned location and intended use.

Current prices, inventory status, production status, and delivery times are displayed directly on each product page. For products that are not in stock, they can be manufactured upon order.

When placing a specific order, you should therefore use the information on the product page and not rely on older price or delivery information from catalogs or cached pages.
