Advantages of garden showers with wall panels

The most popular garden shower at Gartenmetall is the VILLACH model with integrated wall panel. The wall panel is often chosen in elegant rust-brown Corten steel. The wall panel is both elegant and useful, fulfilling several important functions: it forms the standing mounting base for the high-quality stainless steel fitting with hand shower, mixer valve, and large shower head. The wall plate also creates a certain amount of space and privacy for showering. Additional functional elements can be integrated into the wall plate: a foot-operated tap or a water connection for garden irrigation. Thanks to the completely screw-on rear panel, the water supply can be easily installed in the wall plate during assembly and at the same time “hidden.”

Installing garden showers: What you need to know!

Installation is very simple: Where possible, garden and pool showers are delivered fully assembled from the factory, so that all that remains to be done on site is to connect the domestic water supply (cold and, if necessary, hot fresh water) and, if applicable, the waste water. Tip: It is essential that the installation of high-quality garden showers is carried out by a professional plumber, as the pipes leading to the shower fitting are under pressure. If the drain is connected to the waste pipe, it is essential to install a siphon to prevent unpleasant odors.

By the way: if the shower is not used permanently, only for cooling down and without soap or shampoo, etc., a separate wastewater return system is not necessary in private areas. The shower water could then drain away via a sufficiently dimensioned septic tank under the collection tray. To construct the septic tank, the ground should be excavated to a depth of at least 80 cm. This pit is then filled with gravel that is not too fine-grained.

For the fresh water supply, at least one connection (cold water) is required, which should be laid in the ground in a frost-proof manner. The connection to the garden shower is made with an armored hose with a 1-inch or ¾-inch union nut, which is included in the scope of delivery of the garden shower. In all cases, a suitable foundation is necessary to ensure that the garden shower is stable and secure.

The GRAZ stainless steel shower has a ground sleeve installed in the foundation, through which the fresh water can also be supplied in a frost-proof manner. The wall plate for the VILLACH garden shower must be screwed onto a stable foundation that can absorb any wind and impact loads on the wall plate.

Dimensions from stock and custom manufacturing – both are possible

The size of the wall panel can be freely selected. Typical widths are 1.1 m or 0.8 m. The height is always 1.8 meters. The water outlet should be planned 2 m above the floor. If a water collection plate is desired, it occupies an area of 0.8 m x 0.8 m. It is always possible to order and deliver custom dimensions. With the GENF garden shower, which consists of a solid curved stainless steel pipe at its base, virtually all dimensions can be freely selected according to customer requirements.

Materials and surfaces for garden showers

Garden showers with wall panels made of genuine Corten steel are particularly popular. The elegant rust-brown color blends in well with the usual colors found in gardens. In some cases, the color-coated elements fit well into the garden environment, especially when they are coordinated with the other colors in the garden or on the house. The most popular color is anthracite. Without exception, the fittings on all Gartenmetall outdoor showers are made of stainless steel.

Water collection plates are available for all garden showers. The water is collected on the floor and can then be drained into a septic tank or a “proper” sewer pipe. If the garden shower is not used regularly, it is also possible to do without the water collection plate. Recommended accessories include a mixing valve for adjusting the shower water temperature, a self-closing stainless steel faucet with a timer and foot control, and a stainless steel shower head. It is often a good idea to prepare the fresh water connection to the house for the garden shower with an additional branch and faucet so that the garden irrigation system (garden hose) can also be connected there.
