Gartenmetall® has the right water bowl model on offer for every location and every requirement. In the following, we will introduce you to the individual series. However, you are also welcome to request your very own water bowl. Since we manufacture ourselves, special designs are always possible.
We offer a classic water bowl for standing water with the VERONA model series. As a simple design element in the garden, it is especially popular with our feathered friends for quenching their thirst or bathing.

If you prefer a bowl with overflow, then our models from the series ROM are interesting for you. Here you have the choice of one, two or more water bowls. The water ripples down from bowl to bowl, is collected in the water collection vessel and pumped back up from here.

Florence

for standing water

If standing water is not enough for you, you can choose a water bowl as a spring fountain. The models of the FLORENZ series are designed without overflow. The water flows back in the inlet and overflow pipe into the water collection vessel, which is buried under the bowl, and from here it is transported upwards by a pump.

ROM Series

as a spring fountain with overflow

If you are preparing a bowl with überlauf, then our models from the Series ROM are interesting for you. Here you have the choice between one, two or three water bowls in graduated sizes. Thanks to the drip edge, the water flows down from bowl to bowl in a uniform film, is collected in the water collection vessel and pumped back up from here. At the source outlet, the LED lighting für a schöne mood.

TURIN model series

The model series TURIN restricts itself again to a bowl – depending on preference and installation situation with or without Überlauf. Here, the water supply is üvia a bent stainless steel inlet pipe, which is attached to the side of the base of the bowl. The fountain creates a höhere sound backdrop compared to the pure bowl fountains.

MODENA model range

Water feature with integrated overflow and natural stones

New in the range is a the model series MODENA, a combination of several water bowls arranged as a cascade. The water is pumped by pond pump into the top shell. From here it pours into the bowls below until the water is collected back into the basin. The bowls stand on stainless steel pipes, which are covered with drilled-through stones. As a special model, MODENA is also available with a inlet pipe RAURIS, üover which the water flows into the topmost bowl.

RIVA model range

Mushroom shaped water bowl - with and without decorative stones

The visually probably most unusual model comes from the model series RIVA. Here, the bowl seems to be optically upside down, virtually in the shape of a mushroom. The water flows from the inlet with source stone lighting über the downward gewölbte bowl and is collected in the GRP basin. From here it is pumped back up via a pond pump. RIVA is available in a low form or upändert with two decorative stones.

Accessories for spring fountain AQUA BOWL

Fountain nozzles and bubbler

Standard mäßige is a LED lighting attached to the source outlet. This can be replaced by various fountain endüsen: The LAWA fountain creates a water bell, the VULKAN fountain sprays water vigorously into the air. The bubbler provides a bubbling and foamy water image. Due to the intense swirling with air, the water is supplied with plenty of oxygen.

Supplement to the water collection vessel

For quick alignment of the shells, we offer a plastic ring on which the lowest shell sits. If the GRP pool is to be placed at ground level, we recommend the optical cladding with a metal ring, which can be selected in the material to match the shells.

The water feature with foam bubbler for round and rectangular fountain troughs can be made even more eye-catching with the right lighting, even in the dark. The lighting kid is ideal for fountain systems in the home garden, but also for spring fountains in public spaces. The height of the fountain depends on the pump used.

Application and care instructions

For water bowls made of Corten steel, it is to be expected that, especially in the first few years, the water can take on a rusty brown color – until a stable barrier layer has formed on the metal surface. Corten steel water bowls that are not emptied at least once a week and are not allowed to dry completely on a regular basis will rust through like normal metal. Our spring fountains AQUA BOWL are therefore all designed so that when the water supply is turned off, all the water drains into the buried water collection vessel. Nevertheless, the use of a timer is recommended for continuous operation, so that the bowl can dry completely at least once a week. This spring fountain with water bowls has long proved its worth, which is why Gartenmetall® has gone one better! The AQUA BOWL ROM fountain has now been fitted with a third basin in addition to the existing ones. This means that even more water flows from basin to basin, creating stunning cascading effects. The cool water is pumped upwards from the water collection tank, which is buried flush with the ground, and flows over the inlet pipe into the highest basin. The water outlet is beautifully highlighted by LED lighting. The water then flows over the rim of the bowl – which features a special drip edge – into the next larger and deeper bowl, until it finally collects in the GRP basin once more.

Frequently asked questions about AQUA BOWL water bowls

The VERONA range is designed for still water. FLORENZ functions as a spring fountain without an overflow, whilst ROM features an overflowing water basin. TURIN combines the basin with a side inlet pipe made of stainless steel and is available with or without an overflow. MODENA uses several basins to create a cascade, whilst in RIVA the water flows over a mushroom-shaped basin that curves downwards. 

Which design is most suitable depends primarily on whether a calm water surface, a visible water outlet or a pronounced cascade and overflow effect is desired.

Corten steel and stainless steel produce markedly different finishes and have different requirements in terms of use. A Corten steel water feature develops its characteristic rose-patina finish. Particularly in the early stages, rust may flake off and discolour the water or adjacent surfaces.

Stainless steel is suitable for projects where a clear, metallic finish is required and rust formation is to be avoided. Gartenmetall uses particularly corrosion-resistant stainless steel for water features. The choice of material should therefore not be based solely on the colour of the surface, but also on the installation location, water flow and the desired level of maintenance.

The standard water basins are available in diameters of Ø 600, 800, 1,000, 1,200, 1,400 and 2,000 mm. The range thus extends from compact water basins for smaller areas to large-scale water features with a diameter of two metres. 

As Gartenmetall manufactures the basins in-house, special dimensions and project-specific combinations are also possible, depending on the design.

In a spring fountain without an overflow, the water remains within the water bowl and is channelled back into the collection basin via the designated water channel. One example of this is the AQUA BOWL FLORENZ.

In models with an overflow, the water flows deliberately over the edge of the basin or through a defined outlet area. AQUA BOWL ROM, for example, uses a drip edge for this purpose. Combining several overflowing basins creates a cascade fountain.

This decision influences not only the appearance but also the noise level, the space required and the design of the surrounding area.

In the AQUA BOWL spring fountains, the water circulates in a closed system. The water is pumped from a water collection tank to the bowl and then recirculated. The relevant spring fountain sets include a water collection tank, a pump and the necessary connection fittings; depending on the model, LED lighting is also provided at the water outlet. 

The simple VERONA water bowl for still water, on the other hand, operates without this pump circuit.

Corten steel forms its protective patina through the alternation between wet and dry phases. Rust particles may be released into the water, particularly whilst the patina is forming. This can cause the water to turn a rusty brown colour temporarily.

The area surrounding the bowl should therefore be designed in such a way that rusty water can drain away in a controlled manner and sensitive surfaces are not discoloured.

Yes. With an uncoated Corten steel water bowl, prolonged waterlogging must be avoided by design. Gartenmetall recommends emptying the bowl completely at least once a week and allowing it to dry out. The protective barrier layer can only be maintained under alternating wet and dry conditions.

The AQUA BOWL spring fountains are therefore designed so that, once the water supply is switched off, the water can drain back into the water collection vessel. During prolonged operation, a timer can help ensure regular drying periods.

The GRP water collection tank used is frost-resistant and designed for installation underground. The pump, pipework and other technical components are also subject to the specifications set out in the relevant installation and maintenance instructions. 

When planning a water feature, consideration should therefore be given at an early stage to how the system can remain accessible for maintenance and during the winter shutdown. This is particularly important in the case of buried collection basins and elaborately designed surfaces.

Yes, although the requirements there differ from those in a private garden. For public areas, Gartenmetall specifies, amongst other things, a secure connection between the water feature and its base, safe access to the technical equipment and water reservoir, and appropriately designed pump and electrical components. 

Protection against vandalism, access for maintenance and, where necessary, an automatic water replenishment system should also be clarified at the planning stage. For municipal or commercial projects, it is therefore advisable to coordinate the details on a project-by-project basis.

In addition to the standard models, various basin sizes, overflow options and technical components can be combined. Depending on the design, options such as inlet pipes, LED lighting, fountain jets or foam aerators are available. 

For non-standard dimensions or a specific installation scenario, it is advisable to consult the plans. This allows the basin diameter, water flow, catch basin and technical fittings to be designed together to suit the intended location.
