With the AQUA LUND bathing barrel, the garden is expanded into a small wellness oasis. Fun and excitement are guaranteed. In contrast to the usual wooden or plastic bathing barrels, the metal garden version is characterised by particularly great stability and durability. AQUA LUND

With the AQUA LUND Hot Tub, the garden becomes a small wellness oasis – fun and relaxation are guaranteed! Unlike the familiar wooden and plastic hot tubs, AQUA LUND is made of metal. This gives it a particularly high level of stability and guarantees a long service life. The seat and side surfaces inside the tub are covered with a high-quality black coating, which ensures a pleasant feel and high seating comfort. The top edge of the hot tub is edged with a curved RESYSTA® strip in a colour- and water-stable wood look. This enables both comfortable access and the placing of drinks and glasses on the rim.

Gartenmetall® manufactures all its own hot tubs, so numerous variants are possible. As standard, AQUA LUND is available in the classic version with an integrated wood stove and a 240° bench seat. Also as a pure plunge pool, e.g. after a sauna, or as a pool with an integrated all-round bench, the hot tub cuts a great figure outdoors. In both cases, an external heating system can be connected on site. So nothing stands in the way of unadulterated bathing pleasure in your own garden!

Technology and structure

The high-quality and stable metal hot tub is available in two sizes: with an inner diameter of ø1.690 mm, 1.150 l of water fit into the barrel at 80 % filling. It is suitable for 2 to 3 people. The larger version with an inner diameter of ø1.860 mm has a water capacity of 1.500 l and room for 2 to 5 people.

The barrel has an overall height of 950 mm, the seat height is 350 mm. There is a 240° bench inside. The seat cushion and side walls are lined with a black, pleasant-to-the-touch interior coating.

A universal connection as a cable feed-through for e.g. lighting or circulating pump for optimum heat distribution or as a water drain and a side drain with 1″ IT in the floor area are prepared. A floor-level drain for draining residual water is available on request, as is a blue interior coating.

Underwater wood stove for bath barrel AQUA LUND classic

The traditional underwater wood stove is made of stainless steel and is fired from above. It is separated from the seating area by two curved ledges to protect against burns. Depending on the ambient temperature, the pool takes 2 to 4 hours to heat up.

AQUA LUND

as a plunge pool or family bath

The AQUA LUND hot tub for use as a plunge pool or family hot tub does not have any seating. Here the diving fun is in the foreground. Super also suitable for cooling down after a sauna session! Alternatively, there is a version with a 360° bench. In both cases, the interior is lined with black, UV-resistant and haptically pleasant plastic coating.

For heating, a stove (wood, electric or gas) must be connected on site. Connections for this are available. A floor-level drain for draining residual water is possible on request, as well as a blue interior coating.

Accessories for bath barrel

Tarpaulin

To protect against leaves, insects and small animals, it is recommended to cover the hot tub with a round tarpaulin when not in use or even over the winter. The robust plastic tarpaulin is fastened with elastic straps. This also works for the version with a wood-burning stove. However, the attachable chimney must be removed before covering and can be stored in the barrel.

Stair landing

&Uml;ber the two steps of the adjustable and rounded stair platform you can easily get into the bath barrel. The curved RESYSTA®-steps do not splinter and are pleasantly non-slip. The base is made of metal. Step 240 mm, width 600 mm, height per step 180 mm.

Cleaning and water treatment

Unlike wooden hot tubs, the metal tub can be left dry between uses. A simple cover sheet provides sufficient protection. The interior coating is easiest to clean mechanically using plain water—or a high-pressure washer, if necessary. Please use cleaning agents sparingly so that your next soak doesn't turn into a bubble bath! 

To ensure clean water, we recommend replacing the water (approx. 2.5 m³) before each use. Alternatively, the water can be professionally treated using filtration and disinfection systems. Chlorine tablets can only be used with the hot tub model that does not have a wood-burning stove, as the stove is not resistant to chlorine.

The hot tub is delivered fully assembled. It is self-supporting and can therefore be placed on a prepared foundation (e.g., a bed of crushed stone, with or without additional insulation panels) or installed (partially) recessed into a deck or patio. 

For transport, we supply four lifting tongs that allow the hot tub to be securely attached to equipment such as a crane. 

Note: There is always a drain at the bottom, allowing the barrel to be completely emptied without an external pump. However, this requires planning for a waste pipe or similar connection beneath the drain prior to installation.

Like all water features and fountains, a hot tub requires regular cleaning. To do this, drain the water completely. You can then hose down the seats, walls, and floor of the tub and wipe them clean with a soft cloth. However, the best protection is achieved by briefly cleaning your feet before entering the tub and covering it with a tarp when not in use. This prevents grass, leaves, bird droppings, and other debris from getting into the tub in the first place.

AQUA LUND is manufactured as a metal hot tub. Depending on the model, the visible exterior is made of Corten steel, stainless steel with a rotary-ground finish, or color-coated metal. The interior, which holds the water, is lined with a black, waterproof plastic coating. Unlike a traditional wooden hot tub, AQUA LUND can be left dry between uses, according to the manufacturer. The upper rim is made of curved RESYSTA® with a wood-look finish.
AQUA LUND is available in various configurations to suit different usage concepts. The classic version features an integrated underwater wood-burning stove and a 240° bench seat. There is also an unheated plunge or family pool without a bench seat—ideal, for instance, for cooling off after a sauna session. Another model comes with an integrated 360° bench seat and can be prepared for connection to an external heating system provided on-site.

The standard sizes feature an internal diameter of 1,690 mm or 1,860 mm and a height of 950 mm. For hot tubs with an integrated wood-burning stove, these dimensions correspond to a water volume of approximately 1,150 and 1,500 liters, respectively, at 80% capacity; they are designed to accommodate 2–3 or 2–5 people.


For unheated plunge or family pools without bench seating, the specified water volumes are approximately 1,850 and 2,200 liters. The version featuring a 360° bench and no integrated heater holds approximately 1,200 and 1,600 liters, respectively.

AQUA LUND is available in Corten steel, Rotex-ground stainless steel, and color-coated finishes. Regardless of the exterior metal surface, the interior features a waterproof plastic coating; this is black by default, with a blue interior coating available as an option. The surrounding rim is made of curved, water-resistant RESYSTA® with a wood-look finish.
The classic version of AQUA LUND features an integrated underwater wood-burning stove made of 1.4404 (V4A) stainless steel. It is fueled with wood from above and separated from the seating area by curved slats. The heating output is up to 30 kW. Depending on ambient conditions, Gartenmetall specifies a heating time of approximately two to four hours.
For the AQUA-LUND model featuring a 360° bench seat but no integrated wood-burning stove, an external heating system is explicitly intended. Two universal connections are located beneath the bench seat, accessible via an inspection hatch. Wood or gas heating systems—potentially combined with a pump and heat exchanger—can be connected on-site.

In contrast, the current product range does not list these two prepared connections as standard equipment for the version designed solely as a plunge or family pool (without a bench seat). If this version is also to be heated, the required connection setup should therefore be determined on a project-specific basis.

Chlorine-based water treatment must not be used with the AQUA LUND model featuring an integrated wood-burning stove. Gartenmetall points out that the stainless steel wood-burning stove is not permanently resistant to chlorine, and the use of chlorine will void the warranty.

For versions without an integrated wood-burning stove, Gartenmetall generally lists chlorine tablets as a possible method of water treatment. Alternatively, the water can be changed regularly or treated using suitable filtration and disinfection systems. If an external heating system is connected on-site, the material compatibility of that system must also be taken into account. Cleaning should be performed using water and mechanical cleaning of the coated interior surfaces; cleaning agents should be used sparingly.
AQUA LUND is delivered fully assembled and positioned on a foundation prepared by the client—for example, a bed of grit, with or without additional insulation panels. Partial integration into a deck or patio is also an option.

Drainage requirements must be considered prior to installation: a suitable wastewater connection or drainage outlet must be provided beneath the floor drain. Gartenmetall supplies four lifting clamps for transporting the unit to the installation site. Depending on the specific model, the empty weight ranges from approximately 130 to 285 kg; the weight of the water and the users is added to this to determine the final total load.

There is no one-size-fits-all answer for every location. Gartenmetall explicitly points out that a permit may be required for traditional wood-burning fires in some regions. Therefore, local regulations regarding wood burning, the installation site, and any necessary clearances should be checked before ordering and setting up the unit.
