LUMINI Outdoor Lights and Bollard Lights

Lighting for Garden Design

The market for outdoor lighting is vast and seemingly endless. However, the wide range of products also demonstrates just how great the need is to showcase paths, gardens, and open spaces in the best possible light. Good lighting serves safety first and foremost. With the help of well-designed and visually appealing lighting, however, special accents can also be created in both private and public spaces. At Gartenmetall, you’ll find bollard lights made of Corten steel and the other finishes we offer, which are ideally suited in shape, design, and finish to the  Gartenmetall® garden objects.

Flexible and Customizable Outdoor Lighting

The housings for the COMO and AREZZO series are designed in-house and manufactured in our own production facility using state-of-the-art machinery. This allows the housings to be easily adapted to the specific requirements of building owners—such as size, mounting, position of the light source, or connections—without losing their distinctive appearance. There is therefore hardly a more versatile system than COMO and AREZZO.

Both outdoor luminaires are also available as double luminaires—that is, with light emission on both sides—and with mounting brackets on the back instead of on the sides, as is customary. This gives builders the greatest possible flexibility during installation.

LUMINI Outdoor Lights

LED light for warm, insect-friendly lighting in the garden

The COMO and AREZZO series are designed as 230V systems. This has the advantage that no complex wiring is required and the cable can be routed to almost any length. The bollard lights must be connected by a licensed electrician! These high-quality recessed LED lights are built to last and, with an A+ energy efficiency rating, are very energy-efficient. The transformer is molded directly into the lamp housing and is protected against dust and splashing water in accordance with IP54. The warm white light color of the lamp creates a cozy atmosphere in the garden and on the patio. To plan how many lights are needed and at what spacing to achieve the desired illumination, light distribution curves for the various models can be downloaded from the Internet.

Insect-Friendly Light Sources

Artificial light attracts many nocturnal insects. These insects often die from overheating, dehydration, or predation.

Modern LEDs are more energy-efficient than high-pressure sodium lamps and do not emit UV light. As a result, they attract fewer insects than conventional light sources. This is especially true for LEDs with warm white light, such as those we use in our lamps.

The lamp’s beam angle also plays a role for insects. If the light cone is directed downward, as with our lamps, insects are less likely to circle the light source than with lamps that diffuse the light upward.

Frequently Asked Questions About LUMINI Outdoor Lights

The LUMINI COMO and AREZZO outdoor lights are primarily designed to illuminate garden paths, driveways, entryways, and patios. As bollard or path lights, they provide guidance and make walking paths and routes visible in the dark. Gartenmetall recommends these lights for both private and public outdoor spaces.
COMO features a linear, narrow body. AREZZO shares the same slender basic shape but has a distinctive angled and deeper lamp head. Standard heights, material options, and mounting methods are comparable across both series; the choice between COMO and AREZZO is therefore primarily a matter of the desired shape and how the fixture integrates into the design. For specific lighting design, Gartenmetall provides dedicated light distribution curves for both models.

COMO and AREZZO are available as standard in 300, 600, and 900 mm heights. Since Gartenmetall designs and manufactures the luminaire housings in-house, custom requirements can also be accommodated. These include, among other things, adjustments to size, mounting, light source position, and connections. Both models are also available as double luminaires with light emission on both sides.

LUMINI outdoor lights are available in Corten steel, stainless steel, and powder-coated finishes. Depending on the model, powder-coated versions can be finished in RAL or DB colors. For Corten steel, it is important to consider during site planning that rust particles or rust water may come into contact with adjacent surfaces, especially in the early stages. For stainless steel, Gartenmetall recommends regularly removing organic and greasy deposits.
On a solid, level surface, the COMO and AREZZO can be screwed in place using the mounting brackets or anchored with dowels into a suitable concrete base. For installation in ground or planting areas, Gartenmetall offers a separate ground spike that can be driven into the ground or set in concrete. Depending on the installation situation, the power cable can be routed to the light from below or from the back.
The LUMINI COMO and AREZZO bollard lights are designed as 230-V systems. This distinguishes them from solar or typical low-voltage garden lighting systems. The lights must be electrically connected on-site by a licensed electrician.
Gartenmetall deliberately does not specify a standard spacing for all LUMINI fixtures. For COMO and AREZZO, light distribution curves are available, which can be used to plan the number and spacing of the fixtures depending on the model, installation height, and desired illumination intensity. Since surfaces and adjacent materials absorb or reflect light to varying degrees, Gartenmetall also recommends conducting a practical on-site test.
Yes. A motion sensor is available as an option for the COMO and AREZZO bollard lights. The sensor is mounted on the front, above the light source; Gartenmetall specifies a range of up to 6 m, adjustable twilight sensitivity, and an adjustable switch-on time ranging from 5 seconds to 8 minutes. The sensor must also be connected by a licensed electrician.
COMO and AREZZO are offered with a pre-installed warm white LED recessed light; the light is rated IP54. A compatible LED bulb is also available from Gartenmetall as a replacement part. According to the manufacturer, the warm white, downward-facing LED light is also safer for nocturnal insects than light sources containing UV light or fixtures that emit light diffusely upward.

Ja.
