Litter bins and ashtrays are important utensils in urban planning. The DANZIG litter bin has a volume of up to 60 litres and with a special key the inserts can be emptied quickly. POSEN is an ashtray only - either for floor mounting or for screwing onto the wall. With both models you ensure clean inner cities.

Litter bins and ashtrays for public spaces must be made from high-quality, durable materials so that they can withstand even the most intensive use and, where applicable, vandalism.& nbsp;

Our DANZIG litter bins with ashtrays, as well as the separate POSEN freestanding ashtrays, are specially designed for outdoor use in front of town halls, hotels and restaurants, or in squares and parks. They are available in rust-red Corten steel, polished stainless steel or colour-coated stainless steel. The litter bins are securely bolted to the floor or wall, making them stable and vandal-proof. In the case of the ashtrays, ash and cigarette ends are safely contained within the large collection tray – the relatively large capacity allows for long intervals between emptying. DANZIG litter bins with or without ashtrays

The robust DANZIG litter bins with ashtray attachments are designed for floor mounting: the base has two holes for bolting the unit to a sturdy foundation. Alternatively, the bin can also be wall-mounted. In this case, two brackets are welded onto the side supports. 

The bin is 1,050 mm high, 470 mm wide and 400 mm deep. The inner bin, made of hot-dip galvanised steel, has a capacity of 60 litres and can be pulled out for easy emptying once unlocked with a special key. 

The lid, which protects against rain and scavenging animals such as ravens, features an integrated stainless steel ashtray insert with a capacity of approx. 4 litres. Here too, cigarette ends and ash can only be emptied using the special key supplied.

The freestanding ashtray made from Corten steel, stainless steel or colour-coated stainless steel all feature an ash tray made from high-quality stainless steel. The container has a capacity of approximately 1 litre. The ash bin is approximately 1 metre high, with a cross-section of 120 mm x 120 mm. Four holes have been pre-drilled in the base plate to ensure stable installation. This prevents the unit from tipping over, even under heavy use. Cigarette butts are emptied using the special key supplied.

It features a high-quality stainless steel insert that can be opened and emptied using a special security key. Ashtray height: 200 mm, cross-section 120 mm x 120 mm. DANZIG is a litter bin for public spaces with a capacity of approximately 60 litres. A stainless steel ashtray can be optionally integrated into the lid. POSEN, on the other hand, is intended exclusively for ash and cigarette ends and is available as a free-standing ashtray or a wall-mounted ashtray. DANZIG is therefore suitable for locations where waste disposal and ashtrays need to be combined, whilst POSEN can be used to equip a separate smoking area.
The DANZIG floor-mounted model is 1.050 mm high, 470 mm wide and 400 mm deep. The separate inner bin measures 600 × 340 × 340 mm and holds approximately 60 litres of waste. For wall mounting, the current technical product information specifies that DANZIG is 925 mm high, 470 mm wide and 430 mm deep.

No. The ashtray integrated into the lid is an optional extra from DANZIG. The insert is made of stainless steel, is 310 mm long and 120 mm wide, and has a capacity of approximately 4 litres. This means that, depending on its location, DANZIG can be configured either as a waste bin only or as a combination of a waste bin and an ashtray.

For floor mounting, the DANZIG is fitted with a plinth and is bolted to a suitable base. The wall-mounted version features two rear-facing mounting brackets on the bin. This secure mounting is designed for use in public areas and prevents the waste bin from being easily moved.
The POSEN floor-standing ashtray is 1.050 mm high and has a square cross-section measuring 120 × 120 mm. The floor mounting plate measures 200 × 200 mm and has four holes, each 11 mm in diameter. The stainless steel collection container for ash and cigarette ends has a capacity of approximately 1 litre.
The POSEN wall-mounted ashtray is 200 mm high and has a cross-section of 120 × 120 mm. The wall-mounting plate measures 150 × 50 mm and has two holes, each 11 mm in diameter. As with the free-standing model, the stainless steel ash collection container has a capacity of approximately 1 litre.
On the DANZIG waste bin, the access door is opened using the special key supplied; the separate inner bin can then be removed. The optional ashtray in the DANZIG and the stainless steel insert in the POSEN are also unlocked using a special key. This ensures that only authorised persons can empty the bins.
DANZIG and POSEN are available in Corten steel, stainless steel or colour-coated stainless steel. Corten steel develops its characteristic patina of ‘noble rust’ when exposed to alternating wet and dry weather conditions; when planning the location, consideration should be given to potential rust flaking or runoff onto adjacent surfaces. Stainless steel is corrosion-resistant but requires regular maintenance cleaning to maintain a consistently clean appearance. For colour-coated stainless steel, various RAL and DB colour shades are available depending on the product and project.
An optional protective screen is available for DANZIG, which makes it more difficult for birds and other wildlife to access the waste. According to the latest product information, this component can also be retrofitted. Gartenmetall expressly points out that, in the case of fully screened structures, a balance must be struck between effective animal welfare and the continued convenience of waste disposal; it would therefore be an overgeneralisation to describe such structures as completely ‘bird-proof’.
Yes. Gartenmetall provides custom dimensions on request for both the DANZIG litter bin and the POSEN ashtray. This allows for non-standard dimensions to be assessed on a project-by-project basis if, for example, the standard versions do not fit due to the installation situation or the planned street furniture.
